Yingli Solar surpasses 10 GW of solar module deliveries

Monday, 11 August, 2014

Yingli Solar has surpassed 10 GW of cumulative solar module deliveries worldwide.

When fully operational, the total power generated annually by Yingli’s deployed fleet could power an estimated four million average homes and is equivalent to nearly one-fifth of China’s total residential power consumption in 2013 (assuming that 1 MW of Yingli modules will produce 1.2 million kWh of electricity each year).

Each year, the modules will offset approximately 6.8 million tons of carbon emissions when compared to conventional coal generation, which is equivalent to planting more than 340 million trees.

“Going forward, we will remain focused on technological innovation and operations optimisation, with the goal of driving the expansion of solar PV worldwide,” said Bryan Li, executive director and chief strategy officer of Yingli Green Energy.

Yingli Solar has now delivered more than 40 million solar PV modules to over 50 countries and regions across the globe. They are installed in a broad range of systems, from high-profile projects at FIFA World Cup stadiums and small off-grid applications to some of the world’s largest solar power plants, including the Qinghai Golmud Solar Park.
