Clipsal category 6A UTP structured cabling system

Monday, 08 November, 2010 | Supplied by: Schneider Electric

The Clipsal category 6A UTP system is designed to support 10G Base T applications, and can be used for installations requiring high speed and high bandwidth. It includes cable, patch panels, patch cables, modular jacks, as well as faceplates and cable management.

The outlets are claimed to offer considerable headroom above standards’ requirements, and overcomes alien crosstalk (AXT) concerns through the use of shielded patch leads, which helps prevent AXT at the patch panel - an important consideration when installed in high-density applications, alongside active equipment.

The patch panel range features individual modular jacks that are colour coded for both 658A and 568B standards. The cable consists of four solid insulated copper 23 AWG and is UL listed with a CM fire rating. It is designed for use as horizontal cabling and is supplied in 305 m reels.

The patch cord is constructed of high-grade cable and RJ45 plugs and is designed to operate up to 500 MHz, enabling it to operate in a category 6A environment.
