North Queensland’s top electricians were acknowledged at Master Electricians Australia’s (MEA’s) North Queensland Excellence Awards on Sunday.

Fourteen awards were presented to businesses and individuals who have demonstrated outstanding industry achievements.

Master Electrician of the Year was awarded to Cairns company i-LEC Solutions for its high standards in quality and safety. i-LEC Director Phil Young said the company was stunned to be awarded the prestigious title of Master Electrician of the Year.

“Being selected as a finalist against some reputable firms was reward enough, but to actually take the title was an amazing honour,” Young said. “i-LEC has always employed the highest standards of quality and safety in our work and we are very proud and humbled by this acknowledgement from the leading industry body.”

  • Innovative Product of the Year: Linked Group Services for its Linked Solar Iso-cover product
