New energy leader for Siemens

Siemens has appointed Dr Bertram Ehmann as Head of Energy for Siemens (Australia and New Zealand), working to innovate and deliver sustainable solutions across the entire energy conversion chain.

Siemens Chairman and Managing Director Albert Goller said: “Dr Bertram has a wealth of experience in the energy industry gained over a period of 16 years and, for the last 10 years, has been leading global businesses with great success, including the global Siemens Transformers Group.

“He served as President of the European Power Industry Association, COTREL and worked for ABB and Cooper Industries. Bertram holds a doctorate in industrial engineering and is a highly recognised, international Siemens expert on energy.”

Ehmann combines business leadership and technical expertise to drive changes toward sustainable energy solutions. He is passionate about clean energy and the opportunities before the Australian energy industry.

“I very much look forward to working within the Australian industry and to providing Siemens cutting-edge solutions to the range of contemporary energy challenges facing our customers,” Ehmann said. “The opportunity exists in the region to continue to usher innovative, new approaches to energy.
