The 7SD Project in Toowoomba has been announced as a finalist in the Australian Solar Installation Project of the Year. The project was carried out by Toowoomba company Excel Solar Pty Ltd using products from Luxembourg-based CNPV Solar Power SA.

The 7SD Project is a ground-based fixed commercial array consisting of a 60 kW fully monitored solar plant which will provide more than 400 kWh of electricity per day, meeting the energy requirements of about 20 houses. Excel Solar carried out the project from inception to final completion, covering all aspects of design, selection, management and implementation.

The National Annual Excellence Awards, held by the Electrical Contractors Association (ECA) and the Master Electricians Australia (MEA), acknowledges Australia’s best projects and companies involved in electrical contracting and the electrical industry.

“We designed the project from the ground up, with a 25+ year life span,” said Terry Davis and Michael Reiken, Excel Solar founders and directors.

“Our showcase approach guaranteed a focus on quality and longevity during our selection process. The CNPV-300M High Performance Mono-Crystalline Premium Series Module was chosen for its exceptional high efficiencies in cold and hot temperature zones, and CNPV was chosen based upon their reliability and independent testing, while balancing affordability with quality and innovation.”

“To have the credibility in our customer’s view to demonstrate their company’s platform for the future is truly rewarding,” said Bypina Veerraju Chaudary, CNPV’s COO and CTO.

“For the installation to then proceed to recognition within the auspicial Australian ECA/MCA annual awards is the ‘icing on the cake’, so to speak. The total installation at Toowoomba is a flagship demonstration that world-class standards are available for Australian commercial customers, and we are proud to be allied with Excel Solar as they set the standards by which others will be measured.”
