Irwin Tools Marathon circular saw blade with WeldTec

The Marathon circular saw blade with WeldTec technology features the welding of the carbide tooth to the blade as opposed to the traditional brazing process.

Welding fuses the carbide teeth to the blade, making the bond as strong as the steel plate. This bond is resistant to the build-up of heat, resulting in 50% longer life and good durability.

Traditional brazed blades use a brazing compound to join the carbide tips to the blade body, acting like glue.

The braze material, which can soften when exposed to heat, can cause tooth loss, which can be dangerous when cutting engineered building materials with high resin content as this causes high heat build-up when cut.

The WeldTec welded carbide teeth are more durable than standard brazed carbide teeth and offer good tooth retention.

The blade has a 30% stronger tooth bond, which makes it virtually impossible to lose teeth in extreme building conditions.

The welded carbide teeth are sharpened to finer, more durable cutting edges that stay sharper for longer and every other tooth is ground thinner.

The circular saw blade also features a thin kerf to provide faster cutting, innovative heat vents and expansion slots that cut a straighter line, and a reinforced antikickback shoulder for improved safety and durability.

The blades come in various teeth configurations for cordless and handheld saws from 140 to 235 mm in diameter.
