As the Telco majors such as NBN Co, Telstra Mobile, Optus and Vodafone work towards improving and expanding coverage across regional Australia, Lightning Protection International (LPI) and JT Day are providing a full range of earthing and bonding equipment and, in some instances, direct strike lightning protection products to the contracting groups.

JT Day and LPI have supplied NBN contractors throughout Queensland with a full range of NBN-approved, below-ground mechanical clamps and above-ground earth bars.

All mechanical clamps are purpose designed to provide a conductive and mechanically secure connection, between earth rods and conductors while limiting the effects of corrosion when installing an earthing system.

Supplies include:

  • selection of stainless steel u-bolt clamps for connection between earth rods and copper cables and tapes
  • earth rod clamps to facilitate the connection between rods and cables
  • rebar clamps for the bonded connection between rebar and copper conductors
  • earth rods - copper bonded and stainless steel
  • earth-enhancing compounds
  • extensive range of NBN earth bars including lattice tower, service earth bar, monopole tower and feeder earth bar arrangements as per NBN specifications

Broadband services are delivered using a range of technologies across the country to homes and businesses, principally via digital subscriber line (xDSL) technology over the copper access network, 3G and 4G mobile networks, the hybrid fibre coaxial (HFC) networks, fibre-to-the-node (FTTN) networks and fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP) networks.

Satellite networks

In addition to terrestrial networks, all Australian premises are covered by satellite broadband networks.

Beyond the NBN rollout, the Vodafone and Optus EJV (joint venture) is another major telecommunications project currently underway across Australia.

This project involves the upgrade and/or installation of new infrastructure across thousands of sites country wide. It will ultimately see the commissioning and integration of 4G network technology.

As this project has gained momentum, JT Day and LPI have serviced key contractors throughout Queensland with a customised range of Optus and Vodafone products covering earth bars and accessories, feeder earth kits, long palm lugs and earth-enhancing compounds.
